House Allyrion No Foe May Pass of Godsgrace Game of Thrones Lore

In the southern deserts of Westeros, where the rivers Scourge and Vaith flow into the Greenblood, stands the seat of House Allyrion of Godsgrace. Counted among the major houses of Dorne, the Allyrions bear arms featuring a golden hand on a gyronny red and black field, bold and unmistakable.

Their official words are not recorded in the great chronicles, yet semi-canon sources whisper that their motto is: “No Foe May Pass.”

History

Andal Origins

The Allyrions trace their ancestry to the coming of the Andals into Dorne. These adventurers carved out dominions across the arid south, founding Houses Jordayne, Martell, Qorgyle, Santagar, Uller, Vaith, and Allyrion. Godsgrace became their legacy, a stronghold at the meeting of rivers and trade.

Martells as Vassals

Long ago, before the Martells rose to dominate Dorne, they were said to have once been vassals to the Allyrions of Godsgrace, a reminder of how fortunes shift over centuries.

The First Dornish War

During the First Dornish War, when Queen Rhaenys Targaryen descended upon Dorne with her dragon Meraxes, the Allyrions abandoned Godsgrace before her arrival. Some call it cowardice, others prudence, survival over glory. What truly happened is lost to time.
